Voices of Hope are advocates of Harm Reduction.
If you, or someone you love is using drugs a worthy goal starts with staying alive and as healthy as possible while working towards recovery. Harm reduction services help people and communities reduce the harm that comes with drug and alcohol use. Voices of Hope provides Narcan Training, Wound Care, and supplies for safer use and safer sex practices.
However, Harm Reduction can be a life practice and is not limited to the Recovery Community. Seatbelts, bicycle helmets, and sunscreen are forms of Harm Reduction.
Since this event does include alcohol, here are some types of Alcohol Harm Reduction-
+ Having a Designated Driver
+ Drinking plenty of water
+ Eating a Carb-heavy meal before drinking
+ Never leave your drink unattended
+ Recognize the signs of Alcohol Poisoning
+ Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
We will have Uber drivers and Breathalyzers available at this event to help you monitor your alcohol intake level. We hope to have a fun and SAFE fundraising event. Please drink responsibly.
