Voices of Hope's 8th Annual Gratitude Banquet

Please join us for an evening of celebrating and fundraising for recovery! We will honor those who have made significant strides in the fight for recovery in Cecil and Harford Counties. Funds raised will support individuals who struggle with addiction to stay alive and find long term recovery. This year’s catered Banquet will be held at the Rising Sun Fire Hall on Friday, September 29 from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm (Evening Agenda is below). This Semi-Formal Event will feature Speakers, Awards, a Silent Auction, and comedy performance by Mickey Cucchiella (formerly of 98Rock). This Evening will include hors d’oeuvres, dinner selections, desserts, and beverages. There will be over 200 people for this event and it has sold out in years past. 2023 Awards

Recovery Community Champion: Jordan Ayers Jordan has been actively involved in coordinating and implementing outreach programs that aim to address substance use and mental health needs for 4 years. He has been instrumental in Cecil and Harford Counties to connect individuals to treatment and help them overcome barriers to long term recovery, even on nights, weekends and holidays. Jordan’s most significant achievement is his journey to sobriety himself. He has been in recovery since July 1, 2019 which represents the start of his dedication to personal growth, health and well-being.

Recovery Community Impact Award: All Paths All Paths is a Recovery Community Support Group that has grown in membership since their start a few years ago in Cecil County. They have regular meetings, host fun events and have performed outreach to individuals without homes in North East. They are the next level of Harm Reduction – meeting people where they are at and not leaving them there.

Recovery Advocate Award: Bob Sears Bob has been assisting people in recovery for almost 45 years. He began his career as a Substance Use Counselor in Baltimore in the late 1970’s! Since 1989 Bob has worked in Business Development for several programs throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. He has been a consistent presence in Cecil County for years, understanding the treatment demand and lack of resources here and helping to find solutions. In the past year, Bob has helped to develop and organize Peer Conferences in Maryland, bringing together Peer Recovery Specialists and local health care providers. These conferences strengthen the recovery capital of the host counties and build new relationships that benefit those with substance use disorder.

Comedy Performance by Mickey Cucchiella
Mickey is a Baltimore based stand up comedian and a former radio host. He has been entertaining audiences for over 30 yrs. He has performed all over the United States and is a regular at the Baltimore Comedy Factory. His acerbic style and ability to adlib has made him an audience favorite. Mickey can and will entertain any audience. Mickey has been a main stage comedian for many recovery related conferences and conventions!
