MAT Overdose Prevention Training

This is a 3 hour virtual training produced by Maryland Department of Health Regrounding Our Response team. This training will give you 3 CEUs in the Advocacy domain towards Peer Recovery Specialist certification.

The training is a combination of slides, interactive discussions as well as break out sessions.

Presentation Overview:

  • Participants will be able to explain how medications for addiction treatment (MAT) prevent and reduce opioid overdose
  • This training will raise participants awareness of opioid addiction as a chronic disease
  • Participants will be able to have a better understanding of the barriers to accessing medications for opioid use disorder
  • Participants will learn how MAT(MOUD’s) can be used as a Harm Reduction Strategy to prevent overdose.
